As a utility distribution power engineer (P.E. & P.L.S.), Ed began helping missionary efforts in 1978. He and Tom Garber started working together with Wycliffe Associates in 1986 and with Tech Serve in 1989. He continued his volunteer consulting when I-TEC was founded in 2006.

Ed’s expertise in the areas of engineering and design have been invaluable to the I-TEC team.When Ed retired from his 30 year career as an engineer at Penelec First Energy, he started a consultant firm doing work for various commercial, industrial and utility businesses. He was also an adjunct instructor in engineering at the Penn State Altoona Campus for 21 years.

His wife Lois was also a Penelec employee for 35 years and they have one adult son.
